More gain through love

More gain through love

I love to see beyond the common scenes of life to extract deep, spiritual insights. While reflecting on the life story of one of my cats (Sapphire, a cat rescued from the street at age of 1), I realize that there is so much more gain through love than by any other thing. She was able to be rescued from the street where she was found because of her loving state of being. Her sweet, loving behavior drew the attention of the lady feeding a feral/stray cat community. Even though she was in fragile health condition, she was not fearful or hostile like the others cats. She was taken for recovery into the local animal shelter, which allowed her later adoption and a much different/better life.

Looking into her celestial blue eyes feels like dwelling in an ocean of love. It has been like this since the first day we met (9 months ago). Every single day, she intentionally look into my eyes to express her love and gratitude. She feels blessed and happy, and I feel the same. How such a little being can teach us so much about love? I don’t feel I’ve rescued her, rather I feel she rescued a part of me through love.

Her short life story highlighted so far that:

  • Love knows no barriers/distance – She reached out to me from distance. Sapphire was rescued in a city located 300 km from where I live, and still, she somehow “found” a way to come to me.
  • Love is always a win-win solution – When the question is about love, there isn’t such a thing as failure or loss. Love is ALWAYS the answer. In the end, there is gain through love for all.

I feel tremendously blessed for being able to share a part of my journey with her. Thank you my precious, little princess for showing me about love.

  1. Such a beautiful post, Susana! I feel exactly the same way about the many cats who have shared my life! They are little messengers of God, and the embodiment of pure, unconditional love! ❤

  3. How fortunate for you both! I felt the same way about a cat I rescued in 2006. She was the love of my life! As with all things, she passed in June 2017 – I miss her still.
