3 simple daily uses of pink Himalayan salt

Himalayan salt is a pink color salt originated from the mines at Punjab, Pakistan (relatively near Himalayas). It is known for being the purest and complete of all salts and the one with the greatest benefits for our health. 98% of Himalayan salt is composed of sodium chloride (as others salts), but is the remaining percentage that makes this salt so special. Those 2% account for trace minerals (84 in total) such as potassium, magnesium, calcium, phosphorus, vanadium, among others, all required for vital functions and healthy body functioning.

Some of the health benefits of Himalayan salt include: promoting healthy pH balance in your cells (particularly brain cells); inhibiting muscle cramps; improving bone strength; promoting better sinus health; regulating sleep; regulating blood pressure levels; aiding as a potent detoxifier (when added in water); purifying air – just to mention some. Because Himalayan salt is a crystal, its benefits go beyond body (physical), contributing to metaphysically clear/raise the energy of our body and space.

From dietary to fitness, there are many uses for pink Himalayan salt, all adding benefits and goodness into our life. Here I summarize 3 simple ways I use it in my everyday life:

  • Salt lamp – not only adds a beautiful, smoothing glow to our home as it ionizes the environment, clearing the room energies. It’s important if you are a sensitive, spiritual person (as me).
  • Cooking – by simply adding a pinch of this pink salt to your foods/cooking in replacement of sea salt, you are naturally taking it’s health benefits.
  • Sole – drinking the water that has been saturated with the minerals of Himalayan salt have a variety of health-supporting benefits. Simply add a small amount of this salt to a glass jar filled with drinking water (don’t stir or shake). Allow it to sit and saturate the water for 24 h. Drink the “supernatant” water (e.g. one glass each morning, adding some drops of lemon juice, if you like). Re-batch accordingly to use, “re-charging” salt when you feel it’s “weak” (basically, when salt dissolves completely). This sole it’s full of vital ions that will activate and regularize your metabolism, bringing you wellness and well-being.

Other simple punctual, yet beneficial uses of Himalayan salt include salt baths and salt scrubs. You will HOLISTICAlly notice the difference. Give it a try. Take GOOD care of yourself.

Table salt has bad chemical additives to prevent clumping, as well as bleach to make it look white, and these substances can actually be toxic. This is a wonderful post about the wonderful properties of Himalayan salt! We have been using this salt in our home cooking and it’s wonderful! Also the salt lamps are a peaceful addition to any home! Thank you Susana for this valuable information! 🙂

  3. Hi Susana! A very interesting article! We only use Himalayan salts for our cooking now, and we also have a salt lamp which I love. However, I didn’t know about the sole power drink with salt which makes a lot of sense, so I am going to try this as well, Thank you for this information!

  5. Hi Susana,
I bought avhimalayan salt lamp before Christmas and have used it on and off, beautiful glow from it.
    Must try the morning sole.
Today I made your home made hair shampoo using olive oil soap. Loved it and I may try a different one next time.
Today made a shower scrub using Epsom salts & box contained some oils with coconut oil as carrier. (Got recipe elsewhere). Next time will try Himalayan salt perhaps.
    Thanks 🙂
